The Luxaflex team was thrilled to be a part of what is another epic Three Birds Renovations makeover. Faced with the mammoth task of renovating Lana’s family home, the Three Birds Renovations trio pulled out all the stops to transform Lana’s family house of 15 years, into her dream forever home. Inspired by Lana’s beloved Bougainvillea, open plan living and the overall essence of tranquil Santorini, the Three Birds team took on what was their biggest challenge to date.
As could be expected the vision, budget and decision-making criteria for this renovation was notably different from previous Three Birds Renovations flip house projects. The buying and decision-making process for window coverings is also influenced by whether the purchase is for a flip or forever home renovation. Blind type, fabric and colours are best kept to a neutral colour scheme for flip houses to ensure they appeal to the broader market. The blinds selected for a forever home however, are typically less conservative, reflecting personal taste and lifestyle. Light control was a crucial part of the window coverings brief for Lana’s Master bedroom. For this room the ideal window covering solution would allow the natural light to come through during the day and completely darken the room at night (and of course for the occasional sleep in), all while being super easy to operate as it would be used every day.
Luxaflex® Duette® Shades was the ideal solution for this room as the Architella blockout fabric offers complete room darkening and zero view through when closed and the pleated fabric design meant they could be stacked tightly up into the headrail to allow light through when open. The choice of LiteRise operation means the blind can be simply opened, closed or moved to any position in between, and all by hand!
